📱 Hotline is an SMS-based customer feedback system. Customers text a business number and business owners receive alerts. This policy explains how we handle that data.

1. Who We Are

Hotline is operated by HotlineTXT.com (“we,” “our,” or “us”). We provide SMS-based customer alerting services to small businesses. For questions, contact us at Connect@HotlineTXT.com.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use Hotline:

Customer SMS messages: The text content of messages sent to a Hotline business number, along with the sender’s phone number and timestamp.
Business owner information: Business name, owner phone number, optional email address, and optional website URL provided during signup.
Usage data: Message tiers, categories, sentiment classifications, and acknowledgment records generated by our AI system.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information solely to operate the Hotline service:

Classify and route customer messages to business owners via SMS
Send alert notifications to registered business owner phone numbers
Generate weekly digest summaries for business owners (if opted in)
Maintain message logs accessible to the business owner via SMS commands

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. SMS Messaging and Opt-In

Business owners: By signing up for Hotline, you consent to receive SMS alerts and notifications from your assigned Hotline number. You may opt out at any time by texting STOP to your Hotline number. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply.

Customers texting a business: When you text a Hotline-powered business number, your message and phone number are stored and forwarded to the business owner. You are not opted in to any marketing list. The business may reply to your message directly via SMS.

5. Data Retention

Customer messages and associated data are stored for up to 90 days by default. Business owner accounts and associated message history are retained for the duration of the account. You may request deletion by contacting Connect@HotlineTXT.com.

6. Third-Party Services

Hotline uses the following third-party services to operate:

Twilio: SMS sending and receiving. Twilio handles phone number provisioning and message delivery. See Twilio’s Privacy Policy.
Anthropic: AI message classification. Customer message text is sent to Anthropic’s API for analysis. See Anthropic’s Privacy Policy.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to contact us immediately at Connect@HotlineTXT.com if you suspect any unauthorized access.

8. Children’s Privacy

Hotline is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered business owners of material changes via SMS or email. Continued use of Hotline after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
